Q & A: Do I Need To Provide A Meal For My Vendors?

Question: Do I need to provide a meal for the wedding professionals at my wedding?

Answer: I will answer this question with a big YES! Many of your wedding professionals will work 10-12 hours on your wedding day. Just like any human, they need to eat. And I’m not just talking about snack bars here and there, they need to eat a full meal.  I also strongly recommend a hot meal. I can’t tell you how discouraging it is to sit down to eat after a very long day and see a PB&J waiting for you, and NO this doesn't mean you need to serve your wedding professionals filet either but speak with your caterer or venue to see if you can have a chicken or vegetarian meal served for your wedding professionals. They will always offer this for a nominal fee and this way you won’t have disgruntled professionals working your event or leaving to grab food elsewhere.

One other tip I would provide is to ask your venue to set the food out BEFORE the guests are served. A lot of venues insist on serving the guests first but if the band and photographer can eat right as guests are served, your guests won’t be left waiting after they've finished their meal for the party to start back up again because the wedding professionals have just been served in the other room.
